Wire Rope Mounts (WRM)

For heavy shock, vibration, and extreme environments.

Wire Rope Mounts use stainless steel wire rope loops as a resilient spring element. Their non-linear response makes them especially suited to seismic loading: stable under normal conditions, but capable of absorbing sudden high-energy shocks without transmitting peak forces into the structure or equipment they protect.

Hydraulic End-Stop Dampers are designed to absorb high kinetic energy at end-of-travel positions. The hydraulic system dissipates impact energy in a controlled manner, preventing structural overload and protecting critical components under the severe, sudden loading conditions seismic events produce.

Our in-house calculation & simulation software analyses spring and damper systems under severe shock loads, in both time and frequency domains, including non-linear spring characteristics and repeated shock events. Which military platforms does Damping Solutions supply for?

Damping Solutions provides engineered shock and vibration isolation for a wide range of military platforms, including tracked and wheeled military vehicles (APCs, IFVs, MBTs), tactical communication shelters and command platforms, armoured vehicles (e.g. Leopard 2, JLTV-class), military rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, naval vessels and shipborne electronics, and unmanned platforms (UAVs, UGVs). All solutions are engineered to the mechanical and environmental demands specific to each platform type.

Can your solutions protect sensitive electronics and communication systems on military vehicles?

Yes. Communication systems, radar electronics, navigation units, and onboard computers are among the most vibration-sensitive payloads in military use. Our wire rope isolators and Military Communication Dampers (MCD) are specifically designed to protect these systems against both continuous vibration and high-energy shock events, keeping them operational at all times, regardless of terrain or firing conditions.

Are your products suitable for use on armoured vehicles?

Damping Solutions products are used on armoured platforms, including the Leopard 2 and JLTV class. Our Hydraulic End-Stop Dampers (HED) are designed for the extreme impact loads generated by heavy suspension travel, weapons recoil and off-road driving, environments where conventional elastomeric solutions fail.

Do you supply to naval and maritime defence applications?

Yes. Naval environments combine severe shock loads (from underwater explosions and sea state impacts) with constant broadband vibration. Our isolators are engineered to handle both conditions simultaneously. Corrosion-resistant coatings and materials are available for salt-water environments.

Which defence and NATO standards are your products engineered and tested to?

Damping Solutions products are engineered and documented to comply with the following standards: MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-167 (environmental and vibration testing), MIL-S-901D (shock, naval shipboard), AECTP-400 (Allied Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures), and DEF STAN 59-411 (UK Defence Standard for EMC and environmental). All relevant documentation is provided as part of our procurement package, including test reports, compliance declarations, and material traceability.
